Privacy policy
Effective 24 August 2026. This applies to the ImageSweep Android app and this website.
1. Who we are
ImageSweep is published by LD Tools, a trading name used by a personal developer in the United Kingdom (not a limited company). Contact: hello@ldtools.co.uk.
2. Short version
ImageSweep works on your phone. It does not upload your photos or videos. It does not create an account. It does not include advertising or analytics SDKs. We do not run a server that receives your media.
3. What the app processes on the device
To find and remove files by date, the app reads metadata and thumbnails that Android already stores in MediaStore (and, where needed, dates from filenames, EXIF, or video metadata). That work happens locally.
If you move items to Trash, the app keeps a local list of those items so you can restore them or delete them forever from ImageSweep. It may also remember dates it has already resolved, and your last date-range choices. That information stays in the app’s private storage on the phone.
Deleting or trashing uses the system permission sheets Android provides. We do not send those files to LD Tools.
4. What we do not collect
The current app does not request the Internet permission and does not send photos, videos, names, or device identifiers to us. We do not sell personal data. We do not build advertising profiles.
5. Permissions
ImageSweep asks for access to photos and videos (and, on older Android versions, storage) so it can list items by date and request a delete or trash. It does not ask for contacts, location, microphone, or camera.
6. Google Photos
The app may check whether the Google Photos app is installed, so it can warn that a cloud copy might still exist. That check does not open your Google account and cannot see whether a particular file is backed up. If Google Photos backup is on, copies may remain in Google Photos after you delete them on the phone.
7. Google Play
If you download ImageSweep from Google Play, Google processes install, update, and (when we add it) purchase data under Google’s privacy policy. That is Google’s processing, not a feed of your photos to LD Tools.
8. Backups on your phone
Android backup, if you have it enabled, may copy the app’s small local settings (for example last date range, or a list of items in ImageSweep Trash) into your own Google backup. That is your device backup, not an ImageSweep upload.
9. This website
These pages are static files, except the closed-tester signup form. That form collects the email address you type so we can add you to the Play tester list and email you the install link. We do not use it for marketing. They do not use analytics cookies or third-party trackers. Your host or browser may still produce ordinary server or connection logs that we do not use to identify you.
10. Children
ImageSweep is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
11. Changes
If the app starts sending data anywhere (for example crash reports), we will update this policy and the Play listing before that ships.
